- Can you clarify the relationship between 4D Travel, hotel partners and the University?
- The owner of 4D Travel is an alum of Jackson State University but the company, the offer of temporary housing, hotel partners and transportation service are not affiliated or officially endorsed by any University.
- How many rooms are available?
- We have secured 75 Double bed rooms and are working to secure an additional 60 Double bed rooms based on student demand.
- How many students can be accommodated?
- We can currently accommodate 150 students. Our plan is to be able to house 120 more.
- What is the availability of rooms?
- Reservations are on a first come, first served basis.
- When can I check in?
- Check in days are August 19th & 20th. Rooms may be available before these dates but will be subject to standard hotel rates & availability.
- Can you explain the non refundable deposit?
- The $100 non refundable deposit is required to secure a reservation and move to the next step of the process to confirm a room. This is similar to the deposit required for on campus housing.
- What is the total cost for temporary housing for the Fall 2022 Semester?
- The total cost per student is approximately $4,455 plus tax. The Spring semester has more days and may be subject to different pricing. Every effort to reduce costs to students will be made. Payment for the first 30 days is required upfront. Full payment is required every 30 days.
- What is the process to secure a room reservation?

- Will I need a credit card for Incidentals?
- A valid credit or debit card for incidentals is required for each occupant. Amounts and policies vary by hotel partner. Details will be sent to each student and parents based on which hotel partner the student is matched with.
- What about potential property damage? Is there a student Code of Conduct?
- Signature and acknowledgement of these documents are required before check in can be completed. Students are expected to respect the hotel property and staff at all times. Students are also expected to adhere to the same University Code of Conduct when on campus or off campus. Students are responsible for any property damages they incur during their stay.
- Are property tours of the hotels available?
- Each hotel partner will offer virtual tours as well as in person tours by request only. In person tours will be held on specific dates and are subject to availability of staff.
- Are rooms available for Fall & Spring Semesters?
- Arrangements have been made for the Fall '22 Semester. Based on demand, 4D Travel will work to ensure rooms are available for those that request them for the Spring '23 Semester. Details will be emailed upon confirmation of availability for the Spring. Preference will be given to students that book with us for the Fall.
- What is the deadline to book a reservation?
- The deadline for deposits will be August 10th. The deadline for payment of housing fees will be August 19th.
- Is there an age requirement?
- 21 years old is the minimum check in age for most of our hotel partners. Please contact rdavis@4d-travel.com directly if your student is under 21 for options.
- How will roommate assignments be handled?
- Students will be able to request a roommate on the Student Housing Information Form. We will do our best to honor requests but requests can not be guaranteed.

- Will reservations be tax exempt?
- 4D and our hotel partners are doing everything possible to reduce the financial burden for our students. We are working to make sure students can enjoy as many tax exempt room nights as possible. More details on each hotels' tax exempt policy will be provided during the student matching process.
- Can you tell me more about the hotel rewards programs?
- Students will be able to experience excellent customer service and comfortable rooms with one of our hotel partners. We have partnered with hotels under the Hilton, Marriott and IHG brand names. Each has an award winning rewards program that provides great benefits to their members. Each program is free to enroll. Students and parents are encouraged to look at the benefits and enroll.
- How will transportation work?
- Due to the distance from campus for our off campus housing, we are requiring each student to pay a fee for transportation. The fee is $30 per day. This will ensure each student can easily have roundtrip service between their host hotel and campus. Service will be provided in 15 passenger vans with a professional driver. More details about fees, payment, daily van schedules, etc. will be provided via email after your deposit is paid.
- How are you handling student safety concerns?
- The safety and security of our students is a top priority. Each hotel partner is located in an upscale suburb of the Jackson Metro area. These areas have low crime rates in relation to Jackson.
- What Covid-19 Protocols will be followed?
- Every effort will be made to keep our Tiger family safe. Our hotel partners have their own Covid policies & protocols. 4D Travel drivers will follow the most current CDC guidelines regarding Covid-19. This may include passengers wearing a mask for the duration of their time inside the van.
- What options are available for Breakfast & Meal Plans?
- Each hotel offers a daily, complimentary hot deluxe breakfast. We plan to work directly with the University to reduce the price of a meal plan for students that choose the temporary off campus option. Meal plans are encouraged but not required for off campus students. There are grocery delivery options available.
- Can I use my financial aid to pay for temporary housing?
- Per the Director of Financial Aid at Jackson State, students and parents utilizing off campus housing options should expect to cover costs for August and September. Refund checks and Federal financial aid funds that can cover housing will not be available until October at the earliest. Payment must be guaranteed in order to guarantee a room for each semester.
- What are my options over major school holidays?
- Hotel partners will offer a special discounted rate for students who will stay on property during long holiday breaks when the University campus is closed. 4D Travel is working on a secondary option for students that cannot afford to stay at the hotel over holiday breaks. Details will be sent via email once confirmed.
